Josie suffers from arrhythmia since birth, which led her down to an unhealthy lifestyle as a teenager and in her early 20s, at one point borderlining diabetic and overweight due to poor food choices and the lack of exercise.

Determined to get her health back on track, Josie started her own fitness journey in 2008, joined a global gym, trained for a marathon, attempted trail running competitions and obtained her first personal trainer licence in 2015 until she found CrossFit in 2016 and never looked back.

She is intrigued by the multifaceted method of training and the amazing community within the sport. She reckons that the beauty of CrossFit training methods lies in the fact that it trains not only the strength of one's body but more importantly one's mind, a crucial skill which is easy to understand on papers but rarely any chance to practice and CrossFit delivers exactly that for her.

Josie strongly believes that being healthy and fit is the foundation to success, an association which is often overlooked. A healthy mind is built on a healthy body, and living in such a high stress city like Hong Kong, Josie is able to find the balance through CrossFit training and is a keen advocate to those who are looking to for the same.

Specialities: CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CrossFit Weightlifting Level 1 Trainer and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach.

Nam spent the past decade in the professional services industry working in a high-pressured environment. He uses CrossFit as a means to keep physically and mentally fit, and ultimately to set a foundation for longevity.

He is a strong believer that physical activity is not only to improve fitness performance and decompress from long days at work, but also to build mental resilience inside and outside the gym.

He has worked with clients to help achieve a healthier lifestyle creating sustainable habits, with the principle that everything is about finding the right balance ie. making healthier food choices but still enjoying a drink (or two), challenging and pushing himself with an intense workout or just going for long walk with his rescue dog.

Nam has been doing CrossFit for over a decade, and with the passion for that sport, he decided to join Fitness Academy as a coach.

Keni was a competitive swimmer back in school and participated in numerous competitions around the city. However, after graduation, a high-stress busy work life halted all sports and eventually led to an unhealthy and inactive lifestyle. He always jokes that the awakening moment is when he failed to catch a bus around the block and was quickly out of breath. Stepping into his 30s, he realised this lifestyle was a huge issue for daily life and longevity.

He was introduced to CrossFit 2019 by a group of friends and he immediately fell in love with the variety of this exercise program and the community built around it. By combining weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio elements, there are limitless combinations for workouts and it never gets boring. There are also tons of skill to learn which is so satisfying when unlocking something new. While many gyms are similar, I would say the X-Factor is the community of people that you meet, all very supportive and friendly which makes going to the gym much more fun and worth it.

Keni has decided to transition from an athlete to a coach at Fitness Academy as he has found joy in helping others, be it unlocking new skill or refining existing one for PRs. He believes CrossFit is suitable for everyone regardless of fitness level, which is what makes it so unique.

Having played sports his whole life (badminton, basketball, distance running, you name it), Kenny grew up learning from his parents that the key of discipline and putting in the hard work is enjoying the process.

Kenny found CrossFit and thought this sport was a lot different than any that he's come across, both mentally and physically. You have to be patient and build a good foundation of technique and skill to really succeed. It is the effort, dedication, and commitment you put in that makes it worth it in the end.

With his degree in Sports Science and being exposed to people from elders with difficulty moving around to high performance athletes, he is here to help and guide each member to get them to where they want to be.
